Welcome to Ridgewood Summer Academy at Ridgewood High School 2025

Registration for Summer School classes starts May 5, 2025 for remedial and New Credit Classes (Business and Math). If you are signing up for Test Prep classes, Auditing a Math class, Middle School Enrichment classes, or High School Enrichment classes registration is continuous. The cost of each class includes a $25 non-refundable registration fee. Tuition reimbursement will not be awarded after the completion of the first day of class should a student need to withdrawal for any reason. All courses are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of students required have not enrolled by the beginning of the session. 

Remedial and New Credit Class Attendance Policy: The attendance policy that the RHS Summer School follows has been laid out by the New Jersey Department of Education and stipulates that any student who exceeds 1 absence from school or accumulates tardiness that surpasses 30 minutes in a remedial or new credit class will forfeit their opportunity to receive credit for their course work.

*New Credit Classes

   -Students enrolled in a New Credit Class are permitted to miss one day of school and may accrue no more than 30 minutes of tardiness before credit is lost.  Students who exceed these limitations will NOT receive credit for the class in which they are enrolled & they will NOT receive a tuition refund.

 

*Remedial Classes

   -Students enrolled in a Remedial Class are permitted to miss one day of school and may accrue no more than 30 minutes of tardiness before credit is lost.  Students who exceed these limitations will NOT receive credit for the class in which they are enrolled & they will NOT receive a tuition refund.

 

*Final Exams

   -Only New Credit Classes and Remedial Classes require Final Exams.  The Final Exams WILL ONLY be given on the last day of the class.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy.





RPS Summer Academies - Cancellation Policy

   -If a student cancels a class before the first day of the class, they are refunded the cost of the class, but not the included $25 registration fee. If a student cancels a class after the first day of class, there is no refund.

   -All classes are subject to adequate enrollment.  In the event of insufficient enrollment, the class will be cancelled and the tuition & registration fees will be refunded or credited in full.

Remedial Classes Important Information

   -RHS students that take remedial courses through the RHS Summer School program will be able to use their remedial grade in their GPA. 

   -The remedial grade will be a percentage of the original grade earned, however the remedial grade will not replace the grade earned during the school year (both will be present on the transcript).  If an RHS student chooses to take a remedial class through another summer school program, the grade will be displayed on their transcript, however the grade will not be incorporated into the student's GPA.  

   -Out of District students should check with their home districts' policies in terms of remedial classes and their impact on a student's GPA.
